Students and parents alike are often curious about their new teacher. Here is some information you may find interesting as you get to know me better.
Background:
I was born and raised in Cynthiana, Kentucky. I always loved working with kids, even at a young age, when I helped babysit cousins and taught my little sister everything she knows. In high school, I decided to become a teacher because I loved working with kids and wanted to help them be successful in life. I began this journey toward "teacherdom" at Georgetown College, where I graduated at the top of my class in 2007 with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Vocal Music.
Since that time, I have worked as a third grade teacher in two counties. During the 2008-2009 school year, I taught third grade in Pendleton County. It was a great first year as a teacher, but unfortunately it did not work out for me to return to Pendleton County in the fall. Fortunately, during the summer of 2009 I was hired to teach third grade at Dry Ridge Elementary School in Grant County. This coming year will be my fourth year teaching and my third at DRE. I absolutely love it here and am very excited to see what the new school year brings!
